Quinn Insurance in Administration
A company owned by a County Fermanagh businessmen has been placed into administration at the High Court in Dublin today 30th March 2010.

Quinn Insurance Group, which has offices in Cavan and Enniskillen, is owned by Sean Quinn.

Joint administrators were appointed after the Financial Regulator expressed serious concerns about the finances of the company and how it was being run.

Deal agreed for Euro bank Fortis

A deal to partly nationalise European banking and insurance giant Fortis has been agreed.

The move comes after talks between the European Central Bank and the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Home Owners Warned 

Equity Insurance Brokers is warning homeowners to be extra vigilant, following a national rise in thefts from sheds and outbuildings.

A British Crime Survey has revealed there are around 500 reported thefts from sheds and outbuildings every day with a loss of more than £10m of garden equipment and tools.

Car Insurance Costs Set to Rise
Increases

Car insurance costs look set to rise from October 2006 following a move by Norwich Union, the UK's second largest car insurer, to raise its rates by an average of 16%. The firm said its hand had been forced by a similar rise in claim costs over the past two years, during which time insurance rates had remained static.

Norwich Union said claims for personal injuries had been the main reason for the rise in its costs and insurance for riskier customers, such as young men, will rise by up to 40%.
